Not as bad for the bee as it might look. The mites are hitching a ride to the bee's nest where they hop off act as natural cleaners. Bees can become overburdened by them however and if you see one struggling on the ground try brushing the mites off with a soft paintbrush. Assuming you always carry a soft paintbrush.
